HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAERYN!!

Kaeryn turned nine this year. Wow! We can hardly believe it. She has grown alot this year and has accuired new likes and dislikes. She has discovered Hannah Montana, and she absolutely loves to listen to her music and watch her show on disney channel. Kaeryn's birthday was full of Hannah Montana. She got a Hannah Montana doll, a hat and her very own CD. Kaeryn is so excited to have her own and very first CD. Yes, we have been listening to Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus ever since. But the smile on Kaeryn's face makes it all worth it. I also decorated her birthday cake with Hannah Montana stuff. I thought it turned out so cute. She choose to have daddy's famous cheesecake with crunch bar pieces in it. I know it sounds strange but it was actually pretty good. The frosting is whipped cream. I added a tiny drop of food coloring to make it pink and then I used sugar sprinkles to make the stars. It was a fun surprise to make. Kaeryn also recieved some sidewalk chalk and paint that came with 3D glasses, a wand making kit, lipgloss, and some other crafty things. We also gave her the boxed set of books from american girl "Julie" and the Julie doll. She has been wanting one for so long. It was so fun to surprise her. Julie has been her constant companion as well as Hannah Montana. Happy birthday Kaeryn. We love you and we love having you as part of our family. You make us smile everyday and you are growing up to be a beautiful young girl.

The Beach!!!

Of course being this close to the ocean we had to spend time there. AWWWW.....the ocean. We love it there. Jaxen went in the water a few times but decided that he would rather play in the sand. It was a good thing that the campground we were at had showers because he had covered himself from top to bottom in mud. But he sure had fun! Kaeryn loves the water and would run up and down chasing or running away from the waves. This was the first time we actually got to play in the water. The ocean water in washington is just to cold and the places we went to had a strong under current. We were only able to dip our feet in. This beach was by the little city of cresent city. It was only a few miles away from where we were camping. It was so beautiful. And not crowded at all. The kids loved being able to run around and play as much as they wanted while they were there. The first time at the beach Jaxen would run up and down away from the waves. It was so cute. He was imitating his big brother and sister only he didn't want to go into the water as much. We got the kids sand buckets and shovels for the next time and Jaxen had fun digging in the dirt. Ron helped Tristan make sand castles and I would help Jaxen. We would build one and then Jaxen would knock it down like a tower of blocks. He had so much fun doing this he wouldn't stop until I told him I wanted to go into the water. Kaeryn had found some pretty rocks and a few shells. I was surprised that there really wasn't any shells along the beach. There were crab shells all over, but not that many other shells. Which was fine, we had more fun playing in the water. We were there over the forth of July and first went to the beach to watch the fireworks but the fog came in so we moved to the harbor. It was still foggy but we could see the fireworkd better there than we would have at the beach. It was still fun. This was definitly a wonderful family adventure! We can't wait for the next one!

The Return Trail!

The third and last part of the trail was called the return trail. It was full of sculptures. It started off by telling the story of Paul Bunyan. As you continued further down the trail there were carvings of more wood cutters and critters and more. It was so fun! We absolutly loved the adventure and look forward to enjoying it again someday.

Scene's from the top of the mountain

Here are some of the views from the lookout point they had when you got off of the sky trail. The blue coloring in the top three pictures is actually the ocean. It was breathtaking! The bottom picture is the other side of the mountain. I could've stayed up there for a long time.

The Sky Trail!

The trail has 3 parts to it. After you walk by the brotherhood tree, you come to the sky trail. Here they take you up to the top part of the mountain. It was so breathtaking! Kati didn't like it to much, she was shaking the whole time. As soon as the doors opened she tried to get out as fast as she could. It was actually quite funny. When you're up there you really feel like you're on top of the world. I didn't want to go back down, you really felt so free up there.

Camping at the Redwoods!

Kaeryn had asked for her birthday if we could go camping. So we decided to make into a vacation. We choose to go to the Redwoods National Park. It is a place we have not been to yet and something we've always wanted to see. Hearing about these giant beautiful trees all our lives, it was time to go and see them. We camped in the del norte area. It was gorgeous and of course right by the ocean. The nearest town was Klamath where there is a trail called the "Trees of mystery". We choose to go on that trail to see some amazing giants. It was well worth the cost. Even Kati our dog was allowed to go on the trail. It was so beautiful! The trees are so amazing! Many of the trees were named and they had signs by them that told us a little about each one. Here we are at the Cathedral tree and the brotherhood tree. The cathedral tree was quiet and peaceful. It was one Ron really wanted to see. We've read about it and it's a place many people choose to get married. They even have it set up for that. The brotherhood tree was incredible! It was so huge! They call it the brotherhood tree because it was dedicatied to the brotherhood of man. It was an awesome sight!
