Naciemento 2010

I nearly forgot to post pics of this years Naciemento. It's been really fun to find new ways to put this together. This year I added the night sky with glittering lights. Actually, the gems I used for stars look really pretty with the lights on at night. I think I will add them next year also.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! We had a wonderful day. We ended up doing things a bit backwards as Kaeryn and Tristan left around 6:30 in the morning to spend the morning with their mom. The kids did open their gifts from Santa before they left. Kaeryn was excited to recieve a cresselia pokemon doll. Tristan got the Magic kit he wanted and Jaxen got his Mario and Luigi action figures. After Kaeryn and Tristan left Ron brought out a few of my birthday gifts. He gave them to me in phases this time since we didn't get to do it first thing in the morning like we have always done. So every couple hours he would bring one out and we would have fun with that while we waited for it to be time to go back and get Kaeryn and Tristan. Ron and the kids got back around 4:00 that evening and then after getting dinner in the oven it was around 5:00 or so when we finally sat down to open the gifts from the family. That's always a fun paart of the day. the kids expressions were priceless! We take the kids every year and let them choose gifts for eachother. It was really sweet this year, after the kids would open a gift from one another they would give eachother a hug. We did have alot of fun! I can't wait until next year! After we finished opening our gifts we finally had dinner. Ron made lasange for my birthday dinner. Every year he usually makes or gets a german chocolate cake for my birthday. German chocolate cake is my favorite. This year he decided to do something a little different, he made a german chocolate cheesecake! His little invention. It was FANTASTIC! So Yummy!!!!!!!! I loved it! After that we all played until bed. We got two extra controllers for the playstation 3 so now four can play at a time. So Ron and the kids all played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and then X-Men. It was a lot of fun watching them all play together.

We had such a wonderful time as a family! Playing and laughing and smiling! It was a great day! We look forward now to the new year and all the wonderful memories we will make. Merry Christmas Everyone! We hope you all had a day filled with fun and true Joy!!!!

Decorating cookies!

This year instead of decorating sugar cookies I made gingerbread cookies. The kids were still excited and we all had alot of fun decorating them. When I went to get the candy to decorate I had Kaeryn with me. I said to get three different bags of candy. So she choose three different kinds of M&M's. We had Pretzel, cherry and mint M&M's. I made the frosting instead of using store bought. We had a fun filled evening with yummy cookies. A great way to celebrate the season! We definitly have a fun time as a family!

Jaxen's Preschool Christmas Program

December 10th Jaxen's Preschool had a little Christmas program for all the parents. Each age group took turns singing two songs. Jaxen's class sang "We wish you a Merry Christmas and the Hokey Pokey". It was really cute! They all had fun! At the end of the show the teachers surprised the kids with a visit from Santa! Then we all enjoyed some treats. I made grandpa cookie cookies to share with everyone. It was a fun night!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

This year was a very fun Halloween. It was a bit low key compared to other years, because I'm basically on partial bed rest so we didn't get to do some the activities that we usually do. But we still had fun. Ron took the kids to choose their costumes. Kaeryn chose to be Cleopatra, Tristan chose to be Mario and Jaxen chose to be Spider man! I was surprised at Jaxen's choice because he's never seen spider man, has never shown any interest in spider man toys, never has mentioned he likes spider man. He had wanted to be Mario also, and mentioned it everyday until they got to go and get their costumes. When they found that there wasn't a Mario costume in Jaxen's size, Ron said Jaxen saw the Spider man and got really excited and insisted on the Spider man. It's so fascinating to me how quickly kids can change their minds. I love to see them so excited! Ron dressed up as Professor Layton and I did my usual witch. I originally wasn't going to because I wasn't planning on going because of my bed rest. Ron could tell that I was sad about not being able to watch the kids trick or treat, he decided to take the car and we drove along as the kids went trick or treating. I was happy I was able to go, I love watching the excitment on the kids faces. it was cute at first they would come back after each house and say what they had gotten. It was like a scene out of the Charlie Brown Halloween special, it was so funny. Jaxen at one time even said he got nothing just like Charlie Brown, and then started laughing. After that, when the kids came back and said what they had gotten Ron would pipe in " I got a rock". It may sound cheesy, but we all laughed and had a fun time. The kids had a fun night. One house gave them each a bag of chips, another house had party bags and another house was giving out bottled soda. It was a fun night. I look forward to next year being able to go with the kids and our new baby. Fun memories! I hope every one had a fun filled Halloween!

Decorating Pumpkins!

Jaxen's Pirate pumpkin
Tristan's Dracula Pumpkin
Kaeryn's Witch Pumpkin
Our Pumpkin family! Once again this year the kids decided to decorate their pumpkins instead of carve them. I think they turned out really cute! Ron and I used what was left over for our pumpkins. I put together a first mate for Jaxen's pirate and Ron put together another dracula. Ron brought home a tiny pumpkin for the baby. Even though he won't be here until February, he is definitely making his pressence known. Looks like next year we may need a bigger table! Happy Halloween everyone!!!!!!

Jaxen's First Halloween Parade

Today Jaxen had his first Halloween parade at his preschool. He was very excited! All week long he has been asking if it was friday yet. Ron had taken the kids a few weeks ago to choose their costumes. He said Jaxen insisted on Spider man. I think he's the cutest and coolest Spider man ever! When ever he has some kind of party at preschool, we like to volunteer to bring treats. This time around we made brownies and chocolate peanut butter cups. He was very excited about that also. After the parade, they had the kids sit together and they sang some Halloween songs for the parents that stayed to watch. It was so cute and fun to see! I'm so glad that I stayed to watch. Ron has been working from home this week and I talked him into coming with me to watch. He later said he was glad I did, he loved watching Jaxen parade as much as I did. It was so fun! The begining of more to come! I can't wait!
