Playing in the snow!

April 5th we drove out to Utah while the kids were on spring break. As we made our way through the Sierra mountains we saw snow on the ground! The kids were so excited! They haven't seen snow in a very long time. We decided to pull over and let the kids have a few minutes in the snow. It was great to watch them run around.
This was Jaden's very first time seeing the snow. He wasn't so sure what he thought about it. At first he was okay to look at it but then Tristan tried giving him some to hold and Jaden didn't like that so much. He wanted to get back in the car after that.
Tristan and Jaxen were having a blast though. Scooping up snowballs and making footprints in the snow. It was fun. It was only a few minutes, but it was fun! We continued our drive and ended up going through 5 snow storms. It was quite beautiful. I love the snow. The white blanket over the mountains can be so peaceful. It was a great feeling. Just what we needed! A fun way to begin our spring break.

Making cookies!

One of mine and Jaxen's favorite things to do after school together is make cookies. Jaxen loves to help. He helps put in all the ingredients except the eggs. He actually wants to start putting in the eggs but I haven't shown him that trick yet. Maybe I should start teaching him how to do that. He also loves to watch the mixer spin. He gets really excited when he sees that it's time to pour in the chocolate chips! Then the best part is eating the dough!  I love doing stuff like this. The cookies always seem to taste better when we make them together and then eat them together. Fun fun memories! I love my cookie making helper!

Lady bug in th park!

Spring time in California is just beautiful! We love going to the park to play. The area that we're in is always full of ladybugs in the spring. Jaxen is the only one of the kids who likes to play with and look at and allow the ladybugs to crawl on him. He was so cute and so curious. He kept giggling about how the ladybug was tickling him. I love my little scientist! It really makes me happy to see that my kids love nature as much as I do. I really hope this love will continue to grow with him as he does!

Bubbles Bubbles

Bubbles, bubbles on my nose. Bubbles bubbles on my toes. Bubbles, bubbles in my hair. Bubbles, bubbles everywhere. Bubbles, bubbles float on top. Bubbles, bubbles pop pop pop! Bubbles, bubbles fly so high. Count 1 2 3 as they go by. Bubbles, bubbles are so fun. Bubbles, bubbles for everyone!

We have a sesame street board book with this poem and it is Jaden's absolute favorite. He gets the biggest smile when ever we read together or when I just start quoting the poem. I couldn't help but smile during his bath and seeing him have so much fun with his bubbles. This is definitely one of my favorite mommy memories.
